A scholarship in the North

This year, we launched a new group of young people who want to take part in a pioneering project to strengthen the north!
Yahav’s educational program is led by outstanding students from across Israeli society, who receive a scholarship for their role as mentors throughout the year. The scholarship allows them to pause their professional training and focus on doing good and pursuing justice for others. In the spirit of Zionism – which calls for respecting every person as a person – Yahav does not view its guides as mere instruments in a larger mission.
We are all human. Each of us is a goal in and of ourselves, and therefore, we view the personal development of Yahav’s mentors during their training as one of the organization’s core objectives. Therefore, we offer them a complete experience: on the one hand, meaningful work by educating the younger generation in Israel and guiding them toward Zionist action in all walks of life; on the other hand, in-depth study of the foundations of Zionism, alongside a select group of peer mentors.
This program is “The Essence of Yahav”, through which our counselors participate throughout the year in monthly sessions, trips, and seminars – all aimed at empowering them as individuals and shaping them into a cohesive and action-oriented group.
At Yahav, we believe in combining in-depth learning with meaningful action. Profound study, self-reflection and critique, and taking initiative both individually and as a group – these are the values our counselors embody, selected from among hundreds of students their age.
This is the Yahav way: cultivating hearts for the work of our generation—alongside the work itself. Learning and action, side by side, to improve and uplift our shared reality.
