Yahav - Educating For Zionizm

And aren't these young people the pioneers,
on whom we throw our love, and our hope,
because they will go before us to pave new tracks for us.

Yahav - Educating for Zionism was established in the year (2016) – out of the vision of four individuals: Nahshon Aloni, Naama Mushinski, Evyatar Ben Artzi, and Stav Gil. They recognized the conceptual disconnection between Israelis and the true values of Zionism. The four chose to revisit and engage with the fundamental questions at the heart of Israeli society, based on the ever-growing canon of Zionist literature. From a single study group, they established Yahav, a movement aimed at enabling Israeli society to once again tell a shared story drawn from the wells of Zionism: justice, equality, dignity, and human independence. To achieve this goal, Yahav establishes and develops young study groups across the country and in Jewish communities around the world, firmly rooted in our ever-changing reality through a deep and extensive system of roots that allows growth

“Dream and deed are not as different as many think. All the deeds of men are dreams at first, and become dreams in the end.“

Benjamin Ze'ev Theodor Herzl

Why?

Israel's strength and resilience largely depend on its social cohesion and its young leadership. Therefore, discovering the core values that connect Israelis is crucial for renewing the partnership in the life of the state. Our vision is to once again enable the existence of a shared Israeli story that is deep-rooted and profound, yet also contemporary, youthful, and bold, in the spirit of the Zionist movement and in accordance with the values of the Declaration of Independence

We aim to prepare the next generation of leadership in Israel and seek to create a fair and equitable society. Therefore, Yahav's activities empower young men and women to respond to the challenges facing society and the state. At Yahav, we encourage participation in public life in Israel: in politics, public service, the IDF and security systems, the third sector, academia, and the business world. Contrary to the spirit of the times, we do not only believe in the here and now, but also look towards the future. The establishment and development of Yahav over the years leads to fruitful collaborations and creates a bridge between civil society organizations, youth centers in peripheral areas, pre-enlistment youth, soldiers in service, and young students. Yahav allows us to together tell a contemporary and vibrant Israeli story. These young men and women are our hope and represent the future leadership of the State of Israel. Especially at this time, investing in youth is a long-term investment that will contribute to the strengthening and future of the State of Israel

How?

Yahav is operated each year by a group of scholarship students who form the heart of the organization. These students are themselves graduates of service year frameworks and preparatory programs, who have performed significant service in the IDF, and were selected from among hundreds of candidates to guide the youth in various frameworks. We see these leading young individuals as an goal in itself and one of the main goals of Yahav

In this framework, the students meet and participate in various activities once a month on Fridays. To allow the instructors to continue choosing their own paths in life and believing in the combination of theory and practice, we offer at "Yahav" a "complete package"; a fulfilling work through educating the younger generation in Israel, alongside in-depth study of Zionist principles with a select group of guides in the organization. These assemblies are sessions for deepening, empowerment, and addressing core issues of Yahav and Israeli society. In these sessions, students share experiences from their guidance activities in various frameworks and understand, through different texts, the relevance of these topics today. After completing their guidance role at Yahav, the instructors integrate into key positions in Israeli society and join a network of young change-makers. The instructors who finish their activities at Yahav remain in contact with the organization as active partners. During our fellows assembly, we hold strategic discussions, as well as study and deepening evenings together

Who?

We are strong believers in building a robust community, social networking, and preserving Yahav's human capital, as this is one of our significant advantages as an organization. Therefore, we hold three major "Fellows" assembly each year, in addition to media activities and maintaining connections with our partners, with the aim of keeping them engaged and in cooperation with Yahav. These fellows are graduates of Yahav's training programs who, after completing their activities in the organization and their studies, continue to serve Israeli society in various capacities

In a strategic outlook for the coming years, we are building a strong, significant, and influential force, currently comprising many young men and women in various influential and leadership positions across different sectors. At Yahav, we believe in continuing the process of guidance, mentoring, and placement even after they have completed their scholarship
